IMPORTANT INFORMATION SoftBank 705P/705Px Software Update

Thank you for using Softbank Mobile.
Faults (described below) have been found on some of SoftBank 705P/705Px handsets (manufactured by Panasonic Mobile Communications).
1. Identified Faults

When a sender's mail address contains a *quot;/*quot; (slash), characters after the *quot;/*quot; may not appear in Message List View or Message Window.
If battery is charged with handset power off, Retrieve Network Information window sometimes appears when handset is powered on again.
On occasion, parts of web links are not recognized as URLs (http://, https:// or rtsp://) in incoming messages.
Software to resolve the faults will be e available via Software Update. Software Update also includes other enhancements for 705P/705Px. We encourage all 705P/705Px users to download the new software. Please accept our apologies for any inconvenience. We appreciate your understanding.
2. Comprehensive SoftBank Mobile Response

Affected handsets:
Some products of SoftBank 705P (released on October 7, 2006)
Some products of SoftBank 705Px (released on June 21, 2007)
Software Update
Software Update will be available via the Network from November XX, 2007. Please follow steps below for Software Update.

*lt; Software Update Precautions *gt;

Before updating software, turn power off to end all active functions/applications, then restart handset.
Make sure battery is fully charged or charger is connected; a low battery may cause update failure.

Implement Software Update in a place where signal is strong and stable. Do not remove battery during Software Update.

Software Update may take up to approximately 15 minutes. More than one update may be required depending on handset. Follow onscreen instructions.

Do not remove battery during Software Update. If Update fails to complete after about 20 minutes, remove and reinstall battery before retrying. If Update still fails after retrying, bring the handset to the nearest

SoftBank shop.

Handset is disabled until update is complete. Other functions are disabled during Software Update.
Software Update should not affect Phone Book entries, images, sounds, etc. saved on 705P/705Px.

However, handset data may be lost due to hardware failure, damage, or water damage etc. Always back up important information before using Software Update.

Update automatically cancels Keypad Lock. Set Keypad Lock again after Software Update if necessary.
Packet transmission fees do not apply to updates (including checking,
downloading and rewriting).

Trick to free up your N73's phone memory C: by 5MB...

Steps:
Hack your phone..Disable Plat security by CapsOff
Go to C:/private/102072c4 folder You will find a file named "reserved " of size 4.76MB
Delete it (Dont hesitate)
Congrats you've recovered ~5MB memory
CapsOn

why we Kicking this file out?

This reserved file is for FOTA (firmware over the air), and we wont need it as we never get any FOTA updates. It does eventually come back at times..most probably when you use the Device mgr. So at those times u can delete it again...Deleting this file will not affect your phone...I tested and using my N73 without any prob..

Warning: If you Wish, make a backup of the file in your Memory Card.

5 Tips to Make Your Cell Phone Battery Last Longer

Reducing power consumption helps fight global warming

Batteries can have a much longer life, if people follow just a few simple tips on how to save their power

Modern mobile phones have numerous applications installed, as well as a bunch of other features, including photo cameras, blitzes, Bluetooth devices and others. All these accessories take up large amounts of electricity from the battery, prompting users to recharge them more often. This consumes a lot of electric energy, placing unnecessary strain on power plants, to supply more juice.

Using energy-saving settings is a great way of reducing the overall electrical consumption of your phone, especially if you turn off the back light, which accounts for the depletion of the battery to a great extent. Screen-savers are also huge power drains, as they animate the screen even when the phone is still in the pocket.

New photo editing software, built into most mobile phones, are undoubtedly a great way of fine-tuning a photo on the spot, freshly after the moment it was taken. But using the blitz and the included pieces of software places great strain on the battery, which may need recharging after a couple of hours playing with these accessories. A good way to avoid this is by taking pictures in sunny spots, where additional lights are not required, and editing them at home.

Usually, if you stop an average guy on the street and take his phone, you will notice it has Bluetooth and WiFi turned on, as well as GPS, e-mail applications and several feeds, for the weather, sports results, news and whatnot. Turning all these applications off once you've finished working with them is a great way to save power. Also, when on the move, turn off the phone completely, as there's no signal anyway, and it takes a lot of power for the device to look for a connection.

Headsets are another one of life's little wonders, especially in a crowded place, where movements such as reaching inside your pocket are impossible. But you don't necessarily need a Bluetooth device for that; corded headphones work just as well. In fact, they might save you from curious glances, which are inevitably drawn to you when people think you're talking to yourself.

The next step is the easiest one – simply take care of the battery physically. Its contacts may become covered in dust or other such stuff, so cleaning them once in a while might prove to be an excellent idea. The link between the phone and the battery itself will be near perfect, and the amounts of electricity the battery will need to generate will be much smaller.

when a dead phone not possible to repair only with software you need to repair phone hardware.

Which hardware you need to check for dead phone-
(1) when you try to flash if phone not boot check power source/battery voltage/V+ pin in phone connector. just do confirm phone found enough voltage for software operation.
(2) if phone power source is ok but still not boot, do confirm your tx and rx is 100% working/tested.
(3) if tx rx is ok, than check your phone connector, its tx rx pin is confirm connect with cable and internal connector pin is joint on pcb perfectly.
(4) if pin is ok, maximum china phone tx rx going to cpu after crossing a resistor or capacitor so check them.
(5) if resistor is ok now you need to check boot diod, all phone have no boot diod so last try is check cpu tx rx pin.
(6) if boot is ok but phone not receive flash file, maximum time this problem coming from flash ic or ram (maximum china phone flash memory and ram have in one chip). so you need to try first re-hot it if still not solve change it.
but its true flash chip/ram always show error not only for them, sometimes cpu to flash chip/ram connection lost for bad cpu pin or bad cpu soldering on pcb. so check both of them.
(7) phone flash ok but not power on (although file is 100% correct) , for it you need to check

Flash chip/ram (95% include in 1 chip)
Clock crystal and battery
26mhz (near rf ic)
Rf ic,
Power ic and v+/b+ way
Bt ic
Last try is cpu.

i wish 2 do good for all
